Assessment of Nutritional Status of Anganwadi Children in Coastal Karnataka: A CrossSectional Study

Backrground: In India half of the under-5 mortality is attributed to undernutrition. As a consequence malnutrition numerous health issues are seen in children. EEarly intervention during this period can reduce morbidity and mortality. This Study aims estimate prevalence Stunting, underweight, wasting Thinness among anganwadi children Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka.Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted 564 Karnataka. Data collection carried out using pre-tested questionnaire. Anthropometric parameters for assessment nutritional status were measured standard guidelines. Results: Boys weighed slightly more than girls age groups 3 & 4 years whereas girls’ weight 5-7 years. Except group 6 years, boys found be taller girls. The Stunning, Under-weight, Wasting our 25.9%, 22%, 27.8% 24.1% respectively. all higher 5 &6 year old children.Conclusion:Stunning, theissues which requires country ensure implementation policies practical effective also interventions across life cycle that take into account variations context each state countr
